Twenty-Three and a Half Hours
In preparation for the September, I ended up on the Ted Talks. I have watched a few of these videos but never made the next step of using them in a lesson at school. While browsing the health videos I stumbled across the following video which in a word is Awesome! I will definitely be using this with my classes this semester.
Twenty-three and a half hours is clear, concise and right on the mark with respect to exercise and healthy active living. Dr. Mike Evans refers to good science while putting a new spin on just how easy it is improve all areas of your health with a small dose of regular activity. Sometimes 30 or 60 minutes of daily exercise seems like a lot when your attending meetings, marking, coaching, driving the kids to practise and running errands. Throw in some Facebook, Twitter and Youtube and it becomes easy to say ahhh, it's just one day, I'll be ok if I just sit. However, when Dr. Mike says "Can you limit your sleeping and sitting to 23 1/2 hours per day," it makes us think differently about how little time it really takes to improve our health.
